External Tooth Lockwashers

Lock washers come in a few different models for various uses. They are different from flat washers because of their shape. The most common type of lock washers (split lock washers) are disconnected and one side is raised a little higher than the other. Others have sharp inner or outer edges that lock them into place.

External lock washer – this lock washer has the best locking feature, with the teeth on the outside to better grip the material.
