SOCKETS

Button Head

A bolt with a low profile head and socket drive.

Flat Head

A countersunk bolt with a socket drive.

Low Head

Similar to a socket head cap screw except the head height is 50% of the standard size and the socket size is smaller.

Used in applications where the limited clearance would not accommodate the head of a socket head cap screw. Also used in counter-bored holes of material too thin for a socket head cap screw. However, because of their design, they cannot withstand the same preloads as a standard socket head cap screw.

Shoulder Screw

They are recommended for use with stripper springs and guides in punch press die sets. They can also be used for attaching cams, rollers, links and levers, and as stationary guides and pressure pads. SAE 4037 Alloy Steel is a carbon steel that derives improved tensile strength, increased hardness, corrosion resistance and an even surface quality through its combination with manganese, molybdenum, silicon, sulfur and phosphorous. ANSI ASME B18.3 (R1998).
